First Time College Students

First-time college students are required to attend one of the New Student Orientations listed to the right.  New students can register for classes with an advisor, once all admissions documents have been received, however, students need to attend an Orientation before the first day of class.

  • To sign up for an Orientation, log-in to MyWC above, and then click the "Join" button for the desired date.  If you are unable to attend or would like to change the selected seminar, you will be able to "Drop" and "Join" another orientation.  Admissions application must be submitted before enrolling in a session.  After the application is submitted, you will receive an email that contains your username.
  • After you attend a session, you will be cleared for Web-Registration.
  • During your group advising session, an advisor will go over how to select and register for courses using your MyWC portal.  Advising Seminars will also cover degree plans, college resources, and how to be successful at WC.  The group advising sessions will also provide an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have about your first semester at WC.
  • It is strongly recommended you have completed all admissions requirements (Application, Testing, Transcripts) before attending a group advising session; however, it is not required.
  • All new students who do not attend an Advising Seminar will be placed on a hold.

Transfer Students

Transfer students are not required to attend a group advising session.  However, the advising seminars are open to transfer students.  If you are a transfer student and plan on pursing a degree at WC, or if you have taken credit at another institution that will meet a prerequisite requirement at WC, please take a moment and complete the Request for Transcript Review. This will notify the Registrar's office to review your transcript and have any previously awarded credit put on your WC transcript.  We do ask that transfer student meet with advisor prior to registering for classes.  This can be done by visiting Student Services at the Weatherford or Wise County Campus, or one of Education Centers in Mineral Wells or Granbury. Or you can contact an academic advisors.

Returning Students

We're glad your back!  As a returning student, group advising is not a requirement.  However, if you would like to attend, you are welcome.  If you have specific advising questions, feel free to stop by Student Services at the Weatherford or Wise County Campus, or one of Education Centers in Mineral Wells or Granbury. Or you can contact one of our staff academic advisors.
